Todd Sparks, uses his individual brush strokes as if they are characters in the story being told by his paintings.  Emotion and energy are portrayed on these canvases. His contemporary artwork seemingly teems with movement. He is inspired by pointillism, a form of impressionism. This style of painting, made famous by Georges Seurat, is similar to other impressionist painting styles used by Claude Monet or Paul Cezanne. The juxtaposition of colors and brush strokes are important in his work. Todd says “I want the viewers to see the thick paint and know they are seeing original paintings as opposed to prints.”
